Great article, so I hate to nitpick, but H.H. Holmes wasn’t America’s first serial killer. As far as we can tell, that titles goes to the Harpe Brothers (who were actually cousins). They killed at least 39 people — perhaps as many as 50 — in the late 18th Century.
