I agree there are far too many working-class and poor folks who go along with this. But it’s been proven, time and time again, that it is the wealthy and large corporations whose preferences get translated into laws, and the wishes of regular folks have statistically zero effect on lawmakers. So yeah, there are plenty of regular folks who go along with whatever the rich tell us is best, they wouldn’t even think of it if there wasn’t a huge propaganda engine pushing those policies and beliefs.
