I guess because I have such a cynical nature - I'm Gen X and a voracious consumer of True Crime content - I am instantly suspicious of social media "influencers." Shiny happy (usually white) people who are trying to sell you something - usually, themselves. I can't tell you how many tragic, horrific crimes start out with "their social media feed made them look like the perfect couple/family." It's all FAKE. I'm just glad you figured it out before something really bad happened (not that I think Rachel Hollis would murder you - maybe just fleece you of all your money).
