I had no idea that Canada didn't have a plan. The thing that is absolutely infuriating to me, and many other Americans, is that we *had* a plan. Obama had put in place a very comprehensive pandemic plan, and even ran through it with the incoming Trump administration. But Trump threw it in the trash can and his cronies sold off the warehouses of equipment set aside for just this emergency. I could go on and on...and I did, in a story where I compared Trump's pandemic response to the Fyre Festival fraud.

But back to your point. Yes, I do agree that there are some serious loopholes/bugs in the American electoral and politicaly system that have allowed basically an elite oligarchy to capture our government. Elections only matter if those elected close those loopholes and make those reforms needed to get money OUT of politics.
