I’m 46 and only just now starting to suspect I may be on the spectrum. Thanks to articles and YouTube videos by and about women on the spectrum, I now see how all my “quirks” were really symptoms of being on the spectrum. I even literally observed my classmates “like Dian Fossey did the gorillas” and learned how to act like a “normal” kid.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get an official diagnosis — it’s hard enough for kids in my state to get diagnosed, so the waiting list is insane. But I’m pretty sure that’s what I am/have.
