Indeed! I try to highlight all the different kinds of crazy that drives women to kill their children in May. But sadly, by far the most common reason women kill their children is through abuse and neglect. I would argue that there is usually some mental illness involved with those as well — including substance abuse — but it’s not what grabs the headlines.
