She didn’t invite evil in. The evil that forced itself on her came mostly from bigoted Christians who made her life a living hell. Sure, her terrible personality didn’t help her make any friends. But plenty of people who worship gods have evil done to them, and plenty of people who don’t worship gods do just fine. Her beliefs — or lack thereof — were only relevant in that because she wasn’t a Christian, she faced constant harassment, and the police wouldn’t even investigate her disappearance.
