Thank you! And I agree — it’s a mental disorder, but it causes abuse. Like pedophilia.

Which brings me to what I think was her motivation to abuse her daughter but not her sons. I think she identified with Jennifer a lot more so than with the boys. Her daughter, she saw as being a reflection of herself, or as the child who was going to meet her emotional needs (in a sick way). Does that make sense?
