That is absolutely spot on. Your idea of forgiveness for your own peace of mind — what my people call “releasing” — is key. We do need to heal, as a nation, but healing means *both* sides have to be willing to turn down the volume and stretch out their hands.

Regardless, I’m pretty sure no Dems want to “punish” Trump voters. We don’t operate like they do. We might “punish” elected officials at the ballot box, but we’re not out to hurt anyone. We’re not interested in Conservative tears, or triggering anyone. I think once the majority of Trump supporters see that, they might relax a little. I hope, anyway.
