"the belief that the poor and vulnerable don’t contribute to society, that they just consume resources and drag down the rest of the population, hurting economic growth..."

This has been a feature of capitalism here in the US for as far back as Reagan, but it got even louder when COVID struck. I can't count the number of times I heard or read people, from right-wing politicians to dipshits on Facebook, say that we shouldn't do even the smallest thing to stop COVID (like wearing a mask, or gods forbid, getting a vaccine), because after all, only the old and sick will die from it. Like it's just taken as basic truth that the lives of old and sick people aren't worth lifting a finger for.

Jordan Peterson dances around this exact same ideology, that those with low IQs (as though IQ tests mean anything) just can't function in society, so what's to be done???

Both of these are basically the same ideology. Whether it's letting a deadly disease run rampant, or withholding the necessities of life (like food, shelter, or water), or taking active measures (i.e., "turn on the showers and fire up the ovens"), the ideology is the same: fascism, and its actions, genocide.
