Wow, just incredible. Thank you for your bravery and honesty. I was raised a JW, too, but by (apparently) not very strict ones…we didn’t celebrate birthdays or holidays, but in my family, the women spoke their minds and everyone was encouraged to read, learn, think, and question.

That’s why when I was 11, and told I couldn’t hold the microphone for Sunday services because I was a girl, I lost it. Even at that young age I knew that misogyny was total BS. I left soon after that.
