Yes, yes, yes. It’s exactly because of this empty “corporate culture” and its jargony gloss on bullshit that I just can’t stand it. I have a job now with a university, so it’s slightly less corporate-y, but that mindset has definitely crept in and entrenched itself even in academia. It’s why myself and so many other smart, creative people want so desperately to get out — it’s soul-crushing.
